Division of Easter Bunny Affairs

Project Information

Easter Bunnies for Unionization was a spring 2006 class project for the senior level English gaming cultures class. The class discussed and decided on the project together. The initial idea was that a group of working Easter Bunnies were protesting their employer, the Division of Easter Bunny Affairs.

The Easter Bunnies were fighting for unionization, for equal rights, and for better working conditions. The main forces in the project thus became the draconian Division of Easter Bunny Affairs and the bunnies themselves. The class decided to personlize the bunnies by adding in a love story between two of the bunnies, to have a healthy bunny (eat carrots, not candy!), and to have a bunny who was transitioning to being a tooth fairy (with an intended transgender reference).

The story was created online through this website, blogs by the bunnies, through the Easter Bunny eggs placed around UF campus, and through the notes written in chalk around campus pointing readers to the websites and the project as a whole.
